Gross Motor

Our Gross Motor Skills collection promotes learning through touch, movement and manipulation. Gross Motor Skills involve the large muscles of the body that enable such functions as walking, kicking, sitting up right, lifting, and throwing a ball.
A person’s gross motor skills depend on both muscle tone and strength, and low muscle tone (hypotonia)is a characteristic of several disabling conditions, including Down’s Syndrome

Gross motor development requires sensory systems to work together, to work against the pull of gravity to move in the environment, using muscle tone and strength, co-ordination, balance, stability and reflexes. Our Gross Motor products can be used to develop all of these skills, and also plan, sequence and execute movements, training hand-eye co- ordination, focus, tracking and concentration.

BENEFITS: Improve low muscle tone and strength, co-ordination, balance, stability, reflexes, movement, hand-eye co- ordination, focus, tracking and concentration.
